The Blue and Red Flames
(Complementary Candles)
I light a second candle
Observe its blue flames,
Then place it adjacent
And whisper their names.
The first, drawing towards it
As you might expect,
Provides mutual protection
For guardians elect.
Triumphant together,
Emitting white light,
A magnificent beacon
Illumines the night.
Across perilous pathways
That we must traverse,
These peerless companions
Embrace and converse.
And lest we should stumble
As surely we must,
Two complementary candles
Are shining for us.
